As social media continues to evolve, so does the way brands connect with consumers. This blog will document my journey through a social media marketing course, exploring strategies, trends, and real-life examples that demonstrate the power of digital platforms. From content creation to analytics, I’ll break down what I learn through discussions with my peers and how it applies to today’s marketing world. I look forward to chatting with you all.

Let’s get to Yapping…

Branding: A day in The Life

We all LOVE social media and even if you don’t, nine out of ten, you’re still using some form of it for basic questions and information. Personally, I use social media on a daily basis, whether it be for looking up a recipe on TikTok, or posting a collage edit of my outfit on my personal page. Typically for me on days I work I am most likely doom scrolling and saving videos. However, on my off days I try to actively create fun content, not for the likes or views but because I love developing fun and creative concepts. Social media can be exhausting but it also can be a outlet to express ourselves (when you follow the right people). TikTok and Instagram are my go to media platforms, my Tiktok profile is raw content of fit checks, things actively going on in my life and just when I want to have fun. Where as Instagram I will say is more curated and planned, so I may scroll on Instagram to keep up to date on trends I am interested in while also posting fun local activities or more creative fashion photos. Although, as many pros as there are to using these applications , we cannot avoid the obvious. Social media can be an addiction and I believe that is the big downside no one talks about. It is a great tool to showcase yourself and to use your imagination but it can consume some people and become the only thing they do all day everyday. This aspect off it is what upsets me, because some people cannot separate living in the moment with recording; Something that can be a very beautiful thing. In regards to digital media in marketing today’s world, it has been an evolution for companies. Companies rely on digital media to help push their brand, connect with their consumers, and offer real life people to advertise that consumers can relate to. In turn allowing them to build loyalty and a culture that people can adopt and love. Its not about looking a certain way, having money, or being a celebrity anymore. Consumers want authenticity and a brand they know they can relate to; by using digital media companies can show what they are really about. Also digital media and just tech itself is constantly evolving, if companies can not evolve and adapt with it then they stand no chance.
